About

This offering is and will always be a shapeshifting container for my inner child to paint, play and prosper. Every art piece, photograph, and poem affirms who I’ve always known myself to be…an artist.

Phalande Maia is a fat, nonbinary queer, neurosassy, Haitian polycreative, licensed therapist, and traveler. Fluid as in multidisciplinary, fluid as in expansive, fluid as in flow and fluid as in non-conforming. Phalande’s art pieces are a mosaic of the vibrant colors found in Haitian art and the versatility of Black hairstyles cemented utilizing acrylic pouring. Each art piece is named in Haitian Creole, to invoke our power visually and vocally.
